She was predeceased by: her husband James Weldon Lovelace; her parents, James Walter Vining and Mattie Maybelle Blume Vining; her siblings, Thomas Franklin Vining, James Otto Vining, Clarence Curtis Vining (Barbara June), George Douglas Vining (Alice Geneva), Jesse William Vining (Betty Shelby Jean), Cecil Eugene Vining, Eloise Vining Broadway (Marion Broadway), Leila Mae Vining Bell (Charles William Bell), Mildred Kathleen Vining Winburn (Charles Lee Winburn), Thelma Alberta Vining Waynick (Joseph Marriables Waynick), Mary Pansy Vining Summerton (Dayle Wayne Summerton) and Mattie Louise Vining Edwards (John Douglas Edwards); her son-in-law David James McLhinney, Sr.; her grandchildren, David James McLhinney, Jr. and Stephanie Edith Hale Criblez; and her great grandchild Madlyn Dale Medlock Aylock.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Jean Lovelace McLhinney, Barbara Ann Lovelace Hale, Jo-Reba Lovelace Bryson (Thomas Allan Bryson), James "Jimmy" Weldon Lovelace, Jr. (Jean Alieen) and Francis "Frankie" Ion Lovelace (Connie Mary Loraine); and her sister-in-law Sara Emma Stone Vining. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home (515 Miller Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Park (802 N Guignard Dr, Sumter, SC 29150).
