It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gail Welch (Sumter, South Carolina), born in Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on September 4, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John T. Lemmon and Gladys Evelyn Thomas Lemmon; her children, David H. Welch and Sarah Louise Pope; and her brother Buddy Lemmon.

She is survived by: her children, John L. Welch of Sumter, Brenda G. Wroe (Steven) of Dalzell and Michael A. Welch (Lorrie) of Texas; her grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Brittany, John, Sarah, Mitchell, Casey, Bethany, Kayla, Tyler, Brooke, Savannah, Missy and Bobby; and her sisters, Sandra Cain of Columbia and Linda Kennison of Columbia. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at Jefferson Road Freewill Baptist Church and other times at the home of her son, John, 2080 Peach Orchard Rd. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29261.
