He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas E. Lyons and Elizabeth W. Lyons; his siblings, Myrtle Lyons, Thomas R. Lyons, Grace Weatherford and Paul Lyons; and his brother-in-law Ronald Welsh.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Welsh Lyons; his children, Christy Burgess (Brad) of Hartsville and Brent Lyons (Ashley) of Sumter; his grandchildren, Brianna, Brooke, Brian Austin Lyons and Jacob Burgess; his siblings, Johnny Lyons (Joan), Bill Lyons (Brenda), Shirley Turner (Charles), Betty Floyd (Edward), Sandra Neil and Debbie Baldwin (Mike); and his sister-in-law Mary Welsh. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Southside Baptist Church (1116 Manning Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
