He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellison Spann and Pearl McKnight. He is survived by: his siblings, Ellison "Cup", Jr., Moses Lee, John "Koon" Spann, Frankie L. Brunson, Willie McKnight (Stephanie), Victoria Nelson of Pinewood, Dr. Rosetta Spann Davis (Anthony) of Pinewood, Barbara Morris of Pinewood, Betty Spann of Pinewood and Rev. Ella Holland-Bates of Pinewood; his aunt Georgia McKnight; his great-aunt Camilla Canty of Rimini; his uncle Johnny Spann of Pinewood; his cousin Betty Rogers of Sumter; and his close friends, Sammie Lee Billie of Pinewood, Gloria Green of Pinewood, Ronald Jones of Pinewood and Larry Holland of Pinewood. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other cousins.
