He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry W. Phillips, Sr. and Ann Powers Phillips. He is survived by: his sister Suzanne P. Brooks of Sumter; his niece Cathy Brooks-Farmer (Eddie) of Sumter; and his great-nieces, Mackenzie Machado (Deyling) of Rock Hill and Abigail Farmer of Sumter.
