With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Howard Lawrence Fraser Sr. of Sumter, South Carolina, born in Laurens, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 12, 2025 at the age of 82. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Fraser and William Fraser (Will); and his parents-in-law, Maggie and George Rowland. He is survived by: his siblings, Will, Tommy, Hugh, Mary (Payne) and Pat (Spencer); his spouse Gulie Corbett Rowland of Sumter; his children, Miriam Moore (Kurt), Margaret Barron (Tommy), Larry (Rebekah) and Brett (Jessica); his grandchildren, Maggie McGranaghan (Josh), Gigi Moore, TJ Barron, Corbett Bell (Patrick), Sarah Teems (Ryan), Lawrence Fraser (Mary Beth), Emory Moore (Sarah), Jonathan Fraser, Hannah Witt (Ethan), Kasey, Abi, Carleigh, Katherine, Mary, Claire and Jase Fraser; his great grandchildren, Dawson, Raya, Aida, Josie, Millie McGranaghan and Jesse Witt; and his extended family Howard. He is also survived by his 12 brothers and sisters-in-law, and their combined 30 children, his sons, grandsons, and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the The Hill (3500 Ben Sanders Rd, Dalzell, SC 29040).
