He was predeceased by : his parents, James Carol Allen and Martha Garret Allen. He is survived by : his son James "Jay" M. Allen, Jr. (Kristin) of Sumter; his granddaughters, Abigail Grace Allen and Karsyn Leigh Allen; and his brothers, Gary Van Allen of Sumter and Mark Allen (Kathy) of Sumter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
