It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Ernest Givens (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Sam Givens Sr. and Gladys Bell Givens; his children, Katie Maria Givens and George Stanley Givens; and his siblings, Willie Jr., Robert, Pearl, George, David, Laura Tucker and Mary Gregg.

He is survived by: his wife Pauline Givens (Judy); his children, Gladys Hall (Tony) of Georgia, Dorothy Givens, Katrina Humbert, Brittany Givens, Penny Givens (George) and Willie James Givens of Bronx; and his brothers, Class Reginald Thomas (Brenda) of Lawton and Jeffery Thomas (Keisha) of Columbia. He is also survived by three granddaughters; seven grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.

In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation. at the home.
