He was predeceased by: his wife Kathryn Marie Rogers McPhail; his parents, James Albert McPhail, Sr. and Betty June McDonald McPhail; and his brothers, Raymond Leroy McPhail and George Wayne McPhail.
He is survived by: his children, James Albert McPhail, III (Crystal) of Knoxville, TN, Christopher McPhail (Melissa) of Sumter, Katelyn McPhail of Sumter and Taylor McPhail of Sumter; his sister Martha McPhail Thomson (Chris) of Westtown, NY; and his grandchildren, Dakota, Mason, Haley, Jodi, Morgan, Nathan, Dylan, Shelby and Declan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
