He was predeceased by: his parents, George G. Pierson and Evie Osteen Pierson; his siblings, Fran Kolar, Paul Pierson, Sam Pierson, Marguerite Morris and Gaither "Bill" Pierson; and his daughter Carla Ann Smith.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Linda Ingram; his son James; his sister Hazel Wilson; his grandchildren, Brittney Smith Hawkins (Greg), Heath Smith (Jen), Kristen Summer Crib (Chad), Troy Pierson and Kara Pierson; and his great grandchildren, Evie Hawkins, Adley Crib and Avery Pierson. He is also survived by many relatives, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Alice Drive Baptist Church (1305 Loring Mill Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
