With sadness, we share the passing of James Scarborough Sr. (Sumter, South Carolina). James, born on September 6, 1929, passed away on August 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his spouse Carra Ann Rogers Scarborough; his parents, Henry Simpson Scarborough and Lucille Churchwell Scarborough; and his son Ricky Scarborough. He is survived by: his children, David Scarborough of Oklahoma, Sandra Jeffcoat (Robert) of St. Stephen, James Scarborough, Jr. (Julie) of Sumter, Cheryl Summers (Marty) of Pawley's Island, Paulette Smith (Mark) of Simpsonville, Vickie Holland (Richard) of Eutawville, Kevin Scarborough (Marita) of Sumter and Mark Scarborough (Trina) of Sumter; and his daughter-in-law Sandie Scarborough of La Porte, Texas. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
