It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E. Thorne (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Britton "R. B." Thorne and Iris Hollifield Thorne. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Wongrey Thorne; his daughter Brittonni T. Perry (Tom) of Inman; his granddaughter Caitlyn Perry; and his siblings, John T. Thorne (Betsy) of Columbia, Ann T. Hamby of Shelby, NC, Gayle T. Johnston of Sumter and Debbie T. Moore (Tom) of Sumter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
