With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James White Sr. (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on February 24, 2020 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marion White and Leolian Coker White; his son James Carlisle "Buddy" White, Jr.; and his sister Dianne White Prescott. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Graham White; his daughters, Carla White Loftis (Dennis) of Conway and Kristi White Waldron (Mark) of Sumter; his grandchildren, Justin M. Clawson of Sumter, Brent D. Freaney of Portland, OR, Whitney Freaney Stackhouse (Charles) of Atlanta, GA, Graham C. Waldron of Sumter, Karsyn Waldron of Sumter and Kamdyn Waldron of Sumter; and his sister Jenny White Curtis (Mel) of Sumter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Mr. White was a fine Christian man. He was kind to EVERYONE. I was fortunate enough to work with Mr. White at the Enterprise office in Sumter for three years. He took care of our employees as well as the fleet. He was one of the first to arrive and last to leave daily. He was a tireless worker and devoted friend to us all. I will for ever remember his smiling face and the kind way he would make recommendations to keep us out of trouble. I was soo sad to hear of his passing. Laura L. Jolley”
