He was predeceased by: his brother Robert Benjamin; and his stepson Theodore "Teddy" Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Gibson LaGrant; his children, Constantia Gallishaw (Russell), Jonathan Gundy (Cassandra) and Jabah Gundy; the parent of his children Valencia Gundy of Rock Hill; his siblings, Larry LaGrant (Betty) of Columbia, Marion Burgess (Gloria) of Bronx, NY, David LaGrant, Jr. of Kassel, Jerome LaGrant, Margie LaGrant Gaymon of Sumter, Willie LaGrant (Rebecca) of Lithonia, GA, Millie Ann LaGrant of Waipahu, HI, Felicia LaGrant of Charlottte, N. C., Sarah Louise Harry of North Charleston and Thomas LaGrant, Sr. (Tonia) of Gulfport, MS; his grandchildren, Caseem, Caleel, Zyaira of Rock Hill, Kaliyah, Xavier, Donta, Aaliyah, Devonte of Sumter, S. C. Jabah, Jr., Jania, Naiceen of Atlanta, GA, Nykim Brown, Michael Gundy of Bronx and N. Y.; and his special neighbors, Scooter Jackson and Terry Wright. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 70 Warwick Court, Sumter.
