It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Henry Gainey Jr. (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Henry Gainey, Sr. and Miriam Boan; his grandmother Creola Gainey; his brothers, Danny Gainey and Jody Gainey; his niece Ginger McLeod; his nephews, Chaise Gainey and Skyler Johnson; and his brother-in-law Jesse McLeod.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Nicole Gainey (Nate Olive) and Joseph Henry Gainey, III (Bayleigh); his grandchildren, SummerLee Grace McCaskill Gainey, Isaac Cyril Johnson, Waylon James Johnson and Rowen Tucker Gainey; and his siblings, Margie McLeod, Ernie Gainey (Cindy), Gerald Gainey (Gerri), Cathy McLeod (Robbie), Ronnie Gainey, Tim Gainey and Susie Gainey.
