With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Josephine Nickens Parker (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on February 26, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Willie Parker, Sr.; and her parents, Rev. Bowman Nickens and Rebecca Davis Nickens. She is survived by: her children, Willie Parker, Jr. (Deloris), Sammy H. Parker, Carolyn Parker Gooden (James), Melvin E. Parker, Shirley Parker Snipe (Arthur) and Clarence B. Parker; and her sisters-in-law, Geneva Nickens and Edith Nickens. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In accord with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home from 3:00 – 7:00 p. m., 26 Lakeside Drive, Sumter.
