It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Adolphus Atkinson Sr. (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on March 22, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter M. Atkin and Janie Bell Mims Atkinson; and his great grandchild Trey Watry. He is survived by: his children, K. A. "Ken" Atkinson Jr. (Teri) of Surfside Beach, Laurie Lynn Atkinson Lynn (Mike) of Sumter and Paul K. Atkinson Sr. (Robin) of Ridgeway; and his grandchildren, Dawn Soulati (Par), Joy Truesdale (John), K. A. "Tripp" Atkinson III (Courtney), Kevin Lynn (Maree), Laurie Bauer (Jason), Brian Lynn (Lisa), Paul Atkinson Jr. (Whitney) and Lori Safstrom (Dave). He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
