She was predeceased by: her parents, Timothy Nathaniel Sr. and Phillips Nathaniel; her son Michael A. McCray; and her brothers, Timothy, Willie James, Nathaniel and Joe Phillips.
She is survived by: her children, Clarissa Marcella Metze (Roger), James Kenneth McCray (Louise), Terry Eugene McCray (Gladys) and Ricky Maurice McCray (Lisa) of Charleston; her grandchildren, Michaela and Tyler Metze; her sisters-in-law, Mary Gamble George of Brooklyn, Ruby McCray of Baltimore, Sue M. Collins, Catherine McCray and Ester Phillips of Sumter; and her godson Anthony Deas (Fredrica). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ephriam D. Stephens Funeral Home (230 N Lafayette Dr, Sumter, SC 29150). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Melina Presbyterian Church (3539 Black River Rd, Gable, SC 29051).
