Tom Nurre wrote a sympathy message

“Norm was my Morse code radio operator on the job trainer. We met in Anchorage, Alaska, in early 1962. We met again following jungle survival training in the Philippines and subsequent airborne radio direction finding assignments in Vietnam and Thailand. He was a gentle giant. Norm was a respected Morse operator and famed aircraft photographer. We will miss him a lot. On behalf of the EC-47 History Site website subscribers and managers, we extend our heartfelt condolences. Tom Nurre & Joe Martin.”
