He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry M. Mixon and Travis J. Phillips Mixon; his siblings, Gala J. Connor, Terry G. "Sissie" Mixon and Harry "Hal" Mixon; his sister-in-law Alice Mixon; his parents-in-law, Amanda L. Smith, Charles Jones and Jim Smith; his brother-in-law Larry T. Jones; and his nephews, Wayne Ardis, Brandon Connor and Trey Mixon.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Jones Mixon; his daughter Remona Lee Veltre (Tony); his grandchildren, Alexander Corley and Quinn Marlor; his siblings, Michael Mixon, Gary Mixon (Robin) and Sandy Treaster (Stan); and his siblings-in-law, Coni Blanton and Jim Jones (Debra). He is also survived by 10 nieces; 11 nephews; 12 great-nieces; and 11 great-nephews.
