Schmidt (Sumter, South Carolina), born in Port Huron, Michigan, who passed away on August 24, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin E. Schmidt and Viola Stanley Schmidt; his son Paul Schmidt; his grandson Christian Schmidt; his wives, Chong Cha "Lee" Schmidt, Glenna Schmidt and Irene Schmidt; and his brothers, Robert Schmidt, Jeffrey Schmidt and Gary Schmidt.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Schmidt of Sumter and Tony Schmidt (Billie) of Moyock, NC; his stepchildren, Richard Nelson of Sumter, Angela Timmons (Eugene) of Sumter and Andrew Hansel of Sanford, NC; his daughter-in-law Lori Ash of Sumter; his grandchildren, Amber Powers (Johnny), Steven Timmons (Alicia), Kevin Timmons, Chasity Barker, Harley Nelson and Andrew Nelson; his great grandchild Raelynn Powers; and his brothers, Edward Schmidt of Sumter and Michael Schmidt (Kay) of El Paso, TX..
