He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl H. Metz Jr. and Florence Cook Metz; his son Christopher Metz of Cape Coral; and his brother Donald E. Metz of Cincinnati, Ohio.. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey (Lisa) of Charlotte, NC and Julie Langley (Steve) of Huntersville, NC; and his grandchildren, Richard E. Metz, Jennifer Walker, Spencer, Trevor Metz, Sarah and Emily Langley. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
