He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Patnode and Leda Marcous Patnode. He is survived by: his wife Helen Neal Brown Patnode; and his children, Kaye Rogers of Sumter, Lewis W. Brown, Jr. (JoAnne) of Alcolu, Donald Neal Brown, Sr. (Lois) of Summerton, Ann B. LeGrand (Rosser) of Sumter and Lisa B. Burns (Michael) of Summerton. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.
