It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Lee Avins (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on August 24, 2022, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nunnery Avins and Mary Elizabeth "Peggy" Williams Nealy. He is survived by: his siblings, Zelda Avins of Tabor City, NC, Sheila Avins Hendrix (Randy) of Tabor City, NC, Sabrina Stallings of Kinston, NC, Chandler VanGuilder, Shirley Perritte of Whiteville, NC and Keith Hodge of Sumter; his close friend Ginny Holland; his nieces and nephews, Nicole Norris, Jamie Norris, Colby Avins, Hayden Auvil, William Perritte, Abby Perritte, Stacy VanGuilder, Stephanie VanGuilder, Haleigh Ham, Harley Duran, Houston Duran and Hines Duran; and his cousin Alvin Avins.
