It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Smith Pearson (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Smith and Cornelia Cutter Smith; her former husband Robert Allen Prescott; her husband Newton Pearson; and her siblings, Jessie Cannon, George Smith and Robert Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Allen Prescott (Donna) of Newport, NC, Charles Edward Prescott (Julia) of La Grange, NC, William Douglas Prescott (Georgia) of Greenville, SC, Cindy Ferguson (Steve Stewart) of Sumter, SC and Nancy Boykin (Johnny) of Gable, SC; her siblings, Ronnie Smith (Diane) of Gable, SC and Roberta Hulme (Michael) of Newbern, TN; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Prochak, William Douglas Prescott II, Ashley Parrish and Charlie Prescott. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
