He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel W. Gardner, Jr. and Phronsie Brabham Gardner; his sons, Mark Tod Gardner and Michael Paul Gardner; and his grandchild Jordan Matthew Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Redeker Gardner; his daughters, Teresa Gardner-Turner (Michael) of Pawleys Island, SC and Christina Gardner Johnson of Matthews, NC; and his grandchildren, Joshua Tod Gardner, Jared Christopher Gardner, Jessica Kristin Gardner, Corbin Bayne Turner, Samuel Hayden Turner, Abigail McKenzie Johnson and Anna Sophia Johnson.
