He was predeceased by: his father Abraham McCray; and his grandparents, John and Viola McCray. He is survived by: his mother Catherine McCray; his siblings, John F. McCray, Darryl McCray of Fishskill, Crandell F. McCray of California, Lauren T. McCray of Sumter, SC, Herbert McCray, Yolanda McCray of Port Jervis and Lowanda Scott of North Carolina; his nephews, Cravon F. McCray (Crandell J. McCray) and Candialayiah K. McCray (Charity McCray) of Sumter, SC; his uncle Isiah Chestnut (Julia) of Baltimore; his aunts, Mary E. McCray of Sumter, SC, Sue M. Collins of Sumter, SC and Mary Gamble George of Brooklyn; and his close friend Jean Shannon of Sumter, SC. He is also survived by Cousins other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Ephriam D. Stephens Funeral Home (230 N Lafayette Dr, Sumter, SC 29150).
