He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara P. Rice Scanlan; his parents, Maurice V. Scanlan and Dorothy L. Gambell; and his siblings, Paul Scanlan and Dorothy Perry.
He is survived by: his children, Mark R. Scanlan (Superiana) of Sumter, Marlaine D. J. Scanlan of Florida and Patty A. McGinnis of North Carolina; his brother James Scanlan (Katherine) of Maine; and his grandchildren, Aaron Scanlan, Adam Scanlan and Megan McGregor.
