He was predeceased by: his father Walter "Bud" Nickel. He is survived by: his mother Kathryn "Kitty" Nickel (Summerlin); his sisters, Lillian Nickel Thigpen and Valerie Nickel Tapley; and his children, Summerlin Adkins (Nickel), Tanner Nickel and Judd Nickel. He is also survived by his children and mother.
