He is survived by: his wife Doris Anne Wilson O'Shields; his children, Richard Ryan O'Shields (Michelle), Brian Patrick O'Shields (Joanna) and Sharon Elaine O'Shields Duncan (Tony); and his grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Duncan, Caleb Patrick Duncan, Elizabeth Anne Duncan, Cullen Brian O'Shields, Olivia Brianna O'Shields, Danielle Claire O'Shields and Rachael Victoria O'Shields.
