It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Henson Acker (Turbeville, South Carolina), born in Columbus, Mississippi, who passed away on June 14, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Jack Preston Acker and Winnifred Henson Acker; his sister Dottie Haslam; his parents-in-law, Julian and Harriett Gamble; and his niece Nikki Knight.
He is survived by : his wife Julianne Gamble Acker; his children, James Scott Acker (Lori) of Easley, Allyson Acker Lamb (Bobby) of Taylors and Douglas Gamble Acker (Liz) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Lindsey Acker (Brendon), Sallie Tipton (John), Taylor Lamb (Halie), Dalton Acker, Logan Acker, Lydia Acker and Adam Browning; his great grandchildren, Emory Tipton and Cooper Lamb; his brother Jack Acker (Ana); and his siblings-in-law, Nadine Acker, Al Haslem, Mit Green (Vere) of Turbeville and Meg Boyles (Philip) of Easley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
