She was predeceased by : her husband James Lewis Parkins; her parents, Jeter Sr. Cody and Bertha Cody; and her children, Kelly Parkins and Jamie Parkins.

She is survived by : her sons, Tim Wade (Lisa), Stephen Wade (Sharon) and Scott Parkins (Debra); and her brother Jeter Cody Jr. (Trudy). She is also survived by ten grandchildren.
