He was predeceased by : his parents, Monroe Garner and Alice Burke Garner; and his siblings, Helen Garner Tanner, Ethel Garner Greer, Roosevelt "Buddy" Garner, Donald Garner, Mable Garner, Gist Garner, Timothy Garner and David Garner.

He is survived by : his siblings, Alice Ann Rice and Kenneth Garner (Catherine). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other dear relatives, and friends.
