He was predeceased by: his father Ivey Thomas Nave; and his pet Pepper Sue. He is survived by: his wife Donna Sizemore Nave of Union; his mother Grace Gregory Nave; his children, Benji Nave, Michael Nave and Chris Nave; his stepdaughter Susan Jett (Robby); his sister Jennifer Nave "Sissy" (Chip); and his granddaughter Catherine "Cat" Nave. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
