He was predeceased by : his mother Sylvia Martin Strickland; and his siblings, Joann Thompson and Ricky Bennett. He is survived by : his father Jimmy Thompson; his children, Chantell Thompson (Pete Rivera) and DayDay Thompson; his siblings, Shelia Thompson, Robin Thompson, Jason Thompson, Lonnie Bennett, Greg Bennett and Keith Bennett; and his grandchildren, Pedro, Louis, Carlos, Sylvia, Julia Rivera, Andrea Caughman, Destiny Rivera and Mary Moon.
