It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leanders Reid (Varnville, South Carolina), born in Hampton, South Carolina, who passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Geneva Reid (Lordholt) and Vander Williams. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Reid; his daughter Leighann Reid; his granddaughters, Sandra Reid (Calvin Pelzer), Bridget Reid (Tyrone Dillard Sr.) and Tiffany Boulware (Jeremiah Boulware); his siblings, Vander Williams Jr. (Willie-Mae), Maurice Williams, Lois Williams-Hampton, Pearline Murdaugh, Barbara Jackson and Lorraine Cox; his grandchildren, Kanesha Jackson, Breyonna Reid, Kalil Montgomery, Zaki Reid, Zamiyha Reid, Micaiah Boulware, Adayah Boulware, Nathaniel Boulware, Bethany Boulware and Neriah Boulware; and his great grandchildren, Roman Omari and Jamari Jefferson.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home (109 Yemassee Hwy, Yemassee, SC 29945). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Baptist Church (760 Edward S Mixon Rd, Varnville, SC 29944).
