He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Turner Heyward; his brother Terry Dean Heyward (Edward Gordon Reid); his nieces and nephews, Dean McDaniel (Jeannie), Michelle Littlejohn (Michael), Retta Stokes (Sid), Nora McClendon, Stevie Culbreath (Beth), Carole Anne Cantey (William), David Matthews and Jonathan Matthews; and his in-laws, Carolyn Culbreath, Darlene Turner Matthews (Ray), George McDaniel and Carol Atkinson (Mike).
