She was predeceased by: her father Nehemiah Jimmy Mayes; her sister Peggy James; her grandparents, Corine Danley English and Matt Danley; her uncle James Derrick; and her nieces, Trinity Burgess and Zyann Mayes.
She is survived by: her mother Sarah Bell (Richard); her children, James Mayes and Emily Mayes; her siblings, Nehemiah Jimmy Mayes, II, Carolyn Mayes Carter (James Curtis) and Wilhelmia Mayes; her grandchildren, Amelia, Alvin and John Butler; her aunts and uncles, Florine Pough (Tommy), Pauline Jackson, Robert Danley (Barbara) and Noah Hutto (Catherine); and her close friend Tiny Lane. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
