It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Joe Murphy White of Walhalla, South Carolina, who passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Hershel Clifford White of Walhalla; her parents, Joe Dan and Pauline Lay Murphy; and her sisters, Genevia Burgess, Rosella Green, Ivaline Tilson and Julia Peay.
She is survived by: her children, Mark White (Jennifer) of Seneca, Michael White (Jennifer) of Clemson, Becky Hurdt (Ronnie) of Walhalla and Beth Hall (Ray) of Walhalla; her siblings, Mildred Peay of Westminster, Connie Elrod of Westminster, Audrey Wilbanks of Mountain Rest, Dan Murphy of Seneca, Ernest Murphy of Salem, Rickie Murphy of Walhalla and Vance Murphy of Walhalla; and her close friend Ruby Lusk. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
