He is survived by: his wife Irene Grant Chapman of Walhalla; his children, Van Chapman (Angie), Cletus Chapman, Sheree Moses and Deirdre Harvey (Keith); his siblings, Charles Chapman, Betty Knapp, Shirley Long, Linda Vaughn and Irene Green; and his stepchildren, Debbie Ward (Joe), Richard Vaughn (Pam) and Johnny Vaughn. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
