It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Jean Underwood Phillips (Walhalla, South Carolina), who passed away on October 18, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Robert Grant Phillips, Sr.; her parents, James Alfred Underwood and Idabelle Oelkers Underwood; and her brother John Richard Underwood. She is survived by : her children, Vicki Phillips, Robert Phillips (Erin) and Richard Phillips (Vickie) of Walhalla; her grandchildren, Rob Calhoun, Meghan Henley (Ryan), Lauren Hill (Jon), Tyler Phillips (Melanie), Natalie Woodall (Zac) and Caitlin Chewning (Daniel); and her great grandchildren, Collin Henley, Aneliese Henley, Hudson Hill, Parker Hill, Willow Woodall and Beren Chewning.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Luke Methodist food pantry or to the Walhalla Performing Arts Center (WPAC).
