He is survived by: his wife Rose Thomas Owens; his sons, Scott Owens of Atlanta and Brent (Marlyn Owens) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Andrew Owens and Jenny Shugart (Grant); and his great grandchild Cope Shugart.
