He was predeceased by : his mother Donna Jean Carter Hiers; and his stepfather Clarence R. Hiers. He is survived by : his son Dean Coggins of Round; his siblings, Billy Coggins (Heidi), Leith Willis, Shelly (Anthony), Tina (John) and Terina (James); his aunt Joyce Marie Myers; and his uncle Alvin Carter. He is also survived by eight nephews and seven nieces.
