He was predeceased by: his sister Dora; and his mother Courtland Rizer, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Nona Herndon Rizer; his children, Donald Scott Rizer (Donna) and Sherrie Rizer Wallinger (Scott); his grandchildren, Emma Rizer Rowh (Chandler), Donald Rizer, Ellen Wallinger, Susanna Wallinger and Meredith Wallinger; his great grandchildren, Luke and Henry; and his brother Courtland.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Bethel United Methodist Church (355 Hampton St, Walterboro, SC 29488).
