He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley "J. W." Bennett, Jr. and June Blocker Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Fender Bennett; his daughters, Missy Bennett of Walterboro and Ashley Bennett Hadwin (Jason) of Walterboro; his sisters, Teresa Bennett of Ruffin, Debbie Bennett of Ruffin and Darlene Barker (Jimi) of Summerville; his grandchildren, Whitney Rogers (Nick Crosby), Chase Hadwin (Jenna Varner), Morgan Bennett, Dustin "Jim Bob" Hadwin and Easton Hadwin; his great grandchild Fisher Crosby; his pet Remi Kate; and his caregivers, Amy Covington and Jeanette Riley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed to the following: St. Jude's Children's Hospital; or to, Shriners Hospital for Children.
