He was predeceased by: his wife Sherryl Mixson McMillan; his parents, Hezekiah Henry "H. H." McMillan and Ruby Grooms McMillan; and his brother Charles H. McMillan. He is survived by: his sons, Brian McMillan (Michelle) of Walterboro and Chad McMillan (Courtney) of Monroe, Georgia; his grandchildren, Stephanie McMillan Platts (Cameron) of James, Lauren McMillan, Ethan McMillan and Rhett McMillan; his great grandchild Malorie Kate Platts; and his sister-in-law Jean Herndon (Randall). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory, Walterboro Chapel (1193 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
