He was predeceased by: his stepparents, Joanne Rentz and Jerry Crunk; and his brother Perry M. Rentz. He is survived by: his parents, Jacob A. Rentz, Sr. and Judy Grayson Crunk; his pet Sally; his wife Tammy T. Rentz; his children, Joshua J. Rentz and Melissa Rentz; his stepdaughters, Tracey Maness (Chuck) and Candace Crosby; his grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt, Elana, Mackenzie and Briar; and his siblings, Aaron Rentz (Diane), Samuel "Sam" Rentz (Resa) and Jennifer Lee (Arthur).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to the Bank of Walterboro where a fund has been established in his memory.
