It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sara Smith of Walterboro, South Carolina, born in Williams, South Carolina, who passed away on June 14, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Charles Edward Smith; her parents, Willie Wescott Maxcey and Leila Breland Maxcey; and her son Richard Smith. She is survived by : her children, William "Bill" Smith (Pat) of Cape Coral, FL and Joanne Smith Herndon (Jeffrey) of Walterboro; her grandchildren, Meaghan, Steven, Brooks and Lauren; her great grandchildren, Mira, Banks, Breland and Louie; and her caregivers, Martha Smalls and Kay Jacobs.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 355 Hampton Street, Walterboro, SC 29488.
