She was predeceased by: her husband Grady Matthew "Grits" Varn, Sr.; her parents, Samuel M. Barnes and Roberta Headden Barnes; her daughter-in-law Ruth Anne Varn; and her brother Jackie Barnes.
She is survived by: her children, Matt Varn (Tammy) of Round, Rodney Varn (Kimberly) of Walterboro and Stacey Varn Williams of Walterboro; her siblings, Sammie Barnes and Caroline Barnes; her grandchildren, Jay McCollum, Josh McCollum, Kyle McCollum, Heather Varn Benoist, Haley Varn, Shane Varn, Taylor Varn, Hunter Williams, Kaylee Williams, Wesley Bryan and Julie Bryan; her great grandchildren, Emmalynn, Jaxson, Ellison and Noah; and her sister-in-law Paulette Barnes.
