It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Van Hipp of Walterboro, South Carolina, who passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vann Ferell and Fay Jackson Hipp; and his grandson Hugh Chinners III. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Combs Hipp of Walterboro; his children, Van Hipp, Jr. (Jane) of Alexandria, VA, Laynie Chinners (Hugh) of St. George, SC and Duke Hipp (Bethany) of Singapore; his grandchildren, Trey Hipp, Sarah Camille Godfrey (Will), Jackson Hipp, Aubrey Chinners, Nicholas Chinners (Chelsea), William Hipp, George Hipp, Charlotte Hipp and Amelia Hipp; and his great grandchildren, Liam Godfrey, Philip Godfrey, James Godfrey and Maddie Chinners.
His wit was also on display on family Zoom calls during the pandemic and afterwards.
